2009 F16 Global Challenge Notice of Race, Gulfport Yacht Club, Florida

November 10-14, 2009

                      Organizing Authority  Gulfport Yacht Club.

         

                  Racing area shall be lower Boca Ciega Bay. Staging area shall be Gulfport Beach. Boats may stage at the beach area starting at noon on Saturday, November 7.

         

                  Rules for racing shall be the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of Sailing, (except as changed by the Sailing Instructions, 360-turn), the Prescriptions of US  SAILING, the                                   appropriate class rules of each boat entered, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions.

         

                  Eligibility shall be any F16 catamaran that meets class specifications.  Boat measurements and/or certificates may be checked.

         

                  Disclaimer All those taking part in the event do so at their own risk. The Organizing Authority accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience                             occurred, howsoever caused.  Proof of liability insurance required (minimum $300,000).

         

                  Classes  Final selection of equipment and crew will be made at the time of registration and may not change during the regatta without express written permission of the                             race committee. 

         

                  Registration may be done in advance through the instructions on the GYC website, www.gulfportyachtclub.com.

         

                  Entry fee $175 for single-handed boats, $250 for double-handed. Boats registering after Monday, October 12 will pay $50 more for registration at the site.

                  Additional Tickets for Wednesday Dinner - $15, Additional Tickets for Friday Dinner - $25.

         

                  Course format shall be chosen among the US SAILING multihull courses as shown on their course sticker. The course number shall be posted on the course board on the                             starboard side of the RC Signal boat.

         

                  Scoring shall be low point score system of RRS, Appendix A. One race constitutes a regatta.  Prizes will be presented.

                                           Award presentation at Gulfport Beach following conclusion of racing.
